Glorious voices! Great resounding acoustics while maintaining superb clarity. Intimate yet robust. This is my favorite performance without orchestra that I've come across. God bless.

Wonderful to see and hear that this organ (incorporating the Hill 1851 Great Exhibition organ) has been given a new lease of life in such an acoustically spacious new home!
Filia Babylonis misera... En dan komt het haar op mijn armen recht. Prachtige uitvoering op de manier waarop Van Nuffel het (m.i.) heeft gedacht.

The organ is not too loud! There is a good balance between organ & choir.
Could also be suboptimal recording. Choir sounds a little far away, maybe due to mic positioning. But it's still ok for me.
Legato organ playing doesn't get better than this. And then the tasteful and precise phrasing. But then SO together in an acoustivally very "wet" hall. Bravo Herr Kollege dort in Bruges!! Et merci de l'inspiration que j'ai bien reçue de très loin ici en Utah aux É-U. And people: the organ accompaniment is a reduction of M's original scoring for full orchestra. ""Accompaniment is the wrong word, however. Instruments and voices are equal partners and *collaborative* musicians all in their own right. Orchestra scoring "continues," surges, soars, both gives and takes leadership to/from the choir--as M so ably built that into the structure and notes. This is not the time for the organ to just be a good little boy..seen and not heard. Nice little flutes and strings, or else. Invisible. So there folks! Somebody gots organist's back for once!

Magnifique version du Requiem! sereine et poétique, toute en nuances et couleurs, avec une belle limpidité et sans excès. Les phrases sont conduites avec fluidité dans le soucis de toujours avancer. Félicitation cher Peter, ça fait plaisir à entendre! Formidable adéquation avec les couleurs et la souplesse de cet orgue unique en Belgique. Ignace Michiels est décidément à mes yeux l'un des plus éblouissants représentants de l'orgue belge et européen! C'est un émerveillement permanent!
